A 'Power over eSATA' connector is a hybrid of both eSATA and USB2.0, so that it supports USB A Type/eSATA/eSATAp devices.The Welland EZSTOR Power over eSATA RAID Pack consists of a RAID PCI Express card with 2 eSATAp ports and 2 eSATAp cables. The eSATAp ports or connectors combine eSATA with +5V and +12V power support, so when connecting to the hard drives, no extra power supply is required. It's a handy eSATA RAID solution for power users who want a high speed eSATA transmission rate. Using different RAID setups such as JBOD, RAID 0/1 or SATA Port Multiplier makes the RAID Pack suitable for high speed data backup or security applications.
